Oddly enough I rewatched Rango again recently and it's almost a guilty pleasure kinda movie? Like it's weird take on westerns really makes it stick out and it's just enjoyable overall.

Def not my fav though, that's star wars.

i will defend the first How to Train Your Dragon movie as one of if not the best animated films of all time to the death

amazing music and animation, a perfectly sweet story and overall just puts me in euphoria

anyways inception is pretty good too, Wall-E is probably objectivity perfect, I admire Knives Out and Jojo Rabbit for what they do, so many more great films

I'm actually taking a film class right now which is really interesting, currently going through M (a film I would not be able to discuss in shoutbox) and recently watched the original Scarface, great film as well

Edit: I saw littlememe's comment. Spiderverse is also super good

Knives Out is an amazing movie, with a great cast. I recommend that movie, one of the bests.

I remember, my mom forced me to go to the movies with her, and I thought it was an old-person movie, but ended up enjoying it.

knives out trys to be too smart for the audience, it attempts to set up this "twist" with convoluted plotlines and is really easy to see right through it all. The movie is saved by good chemistry between star actors.

If you want movie recommendations try watching apocalypse now and the song remains the same, two classics in my book with tons of rewatchabilty

City of God. It's my favorite movie of all time, and one that I recommend to anyone who is a fan of Scorcese and Tarantino movies. If you understand Portuguese then it's even better, but it's great even with subtitles. This movie has some of the best performances ever by child actors.

Shawshank Redemption (obvious choice but it's just incredible)
Sing Street (criminally underrated and Irish)
What we do in the shadows (same director as thor ragnarok (also great) it always makes me laugh, best comedy I've seen)
Lion King or Spiderverse are my two animated choices

I'm guessing you didn't watch the fifth one then

  13. The Lighthouse (2019) is my all time favorite movie rn. I guess its kind of more artsy but the base story is 2 dudes getting drunk and slowly losing it on a lighthouse. Favorite actors are in it too. Tron Legacy's great too great visuals and easily my favorite soundtrack ever.

I genuinely think Hot Fuzz is at least the best Comedy of all time. I recently forced my parents to watch it and they loved it. Definitely worth checking out

As for recommendations: Koe no Katachi, Arrival, The Truman Show (or any Jim Carrey movie)

The Lord of the Rings trilogy. No question.

Once a year, my friends and I get a group going to marathon the extended editions all in one go for a 12+ hour grind. The movies all flow into the next one really well so when watching them together it sort of feels like you're watching one long movie altogether. So when you finally make it to Mordor, goddamn does it feel like it took forever just like it took Frodo and Sam.

    Mr Nobody
    [IMG]

In the future, nobody can die. Everybody is immortal. There is one last mortal named Mr Nobody and the world is watching to see the last mortal person die. Being the last mortal on his death bed, he gets an interview from some media company. Now, the protagonist can basically see everything that could ever possibly happen. Imagine multiverse with branching paths/futures depending on tiny small differences, and he can see all the differences and what timelines they lead to. In this interview he tells the story of his life which is an amalgamation of multiple timelines. There are a couple of "main" timelines, the main difference being which girl he ended up after highschool and the type of life he leads. The movie basically follows his life and it's hard to keep track of what is in which timeline or what is real/fake.

The story is rife with symbolism, there isn't a shot that doesn't have some sort of symbolism in the background. The use of colors is amazing and used symbolically as well. Conceptually, the movie is one of the coolest movies I've ever seen. The story keeps you guessing until closer to the end when things start to make more sense. I enjoy going back and rewatching it to try to find new things in the background or hints. A lot of shoreshadowing/symbolism. Basically, once you know the "ending" you can go back and see all the things that were hinting towards the ending, maybe I'm just slow but I didn't notice them the first time.

Call me a sucker but I love a good love story / drama
