I'd argue that a slay is a harsher punishment for these kinds of people. If they get a ban they'll just hop to another TTT server and rdm there until they get slapped with another ban, with a slay they will either stay (maybe learn from their mistake) or leave and then the next time they want to rdm they have to sit out the slay first.
This would make rules very unfriendly towards new plays in a game that's already dying because it's not getting enough new players
This honestly. Too be honest, I feel like it should be determined whether they have the intent to just rdm and rdm. I've seen people get like 2 rdm and leave bans and not appeal it even though they are fun people to play with. It's not like they were purposefully rdming, it's just the lack of knowledge of the rules. And before anybody says "lmao just read the rules" who tf gonna play here for like a week read the entirety of the essays that is extended rules? Just lowering rdm and leave bans would be perfect. Even if 1st offense was 1 day and have a longer sol time would be fine for me
I mean, I feel like that would be the point. A random player joins and RDM & Leaves is far more likely to just be rdming and has no plans on returning. A long-term playeer who actively plays on the servers is likely to return and serve their slays. A playtime threshold at least makes the rules on RDM & Leave more lenient towards players active in the community. Seems like a decent middle ground compared to outright removing any punishment for RDM & Leave.
Exactly. This part right here. I really think the intent part matters a lot here and we should rethink whether it's fair to punish RDM & Leave the same across the board when I think it can be broken down into two types: Likely to Return versus Unlikely to Return. I'd say there is also accidental, but that could honestly be lumped in with Likely to Return. If a player is known for serving their slays and is very likely to return to play more, what does it benefit the server and community to prevent them from playing on the servers for possibly up to 4 weeks.
Rdm + leave = 24hr ban, doesn't matter the offence. Toxic ban if they do something ridiculous like 10 in a month
Dw about that, you guys have already fucked me over 100s of times before. What I'm saying is like you get one of those people on who rdms first round, puts dhsofbsofbdosb in report box, and leaves. That is a clear intent to just rdm. If it's someone who's new to the server, and put something about killing off sus and leaves, I would believe that is not the intent to just rdm and rdm. I believe that it would be someone new and has little to no knowledge of the rules. If they had also been playing a couple of rounds before that it would be reasonable too. First case scenario would be 5 days, second case would be less punishing.
