Two nights in a row now I have gotten on for a couple maps, waiting for a T round. It finally comes, and I get rdmed 10 seconds into the round. Great. I waited 10+ rounds, lost my T round, and don't have time to play any more. What does the rdmer get? A slay when he's an innocent? That's hardly fair.

I would see it different if I was rdmed 5 minutes in after getting a chance to play out my T round at least for a bit. Instances like this really make me regret getting on the server for little bit of free time I have before bed.

I suggest increasing the penalty for some rdms against traitors with the handling mod's discretion. I'm not sure what the penalty would be exactly. Possibly an extra slay, point deduction, etc. Or, give the rdmed traitor the option of getting a free T round the following round.

This may be a bad idea for reasons I'm not aware of, but let me know what you guys think. I think it would at the very least reduce all rdm for fear of falsely killing a T.

Other servers do do this. Usually it's just an extra slay or two. But yeah I don't like being RDMed on my T round

I'm a bit mixed about this. RDMing Traitors do have a bigger impact then RDMing innocents and plus with it possible to buy Traitor it leads to a lot more frustration. But I don't know how an extra penalty would work while keeping everything fair.

However it seems most people who RDM on Ts end up leaving and getting banned for that, so I'm just unsure about this issue.

That's why I figured leaving it to the discretion of the mods would be best. Falsely killing a T 5 minutes into the round when you may have reason to suspect them is different than rdming at the round start. Both are rdm, but the intentions are vastly different.

RDMers are gonna RDM, if I want to murder someone for having the name Noob, I will do it and I don't feel like I should be slain an extra time by pure chance.

But for real, if you mess up and get slain, you should not get extra slain by pure chance, people get slain often, just because someone got unlucky should not mean they should be punished so harshly. I am here to play a game not bingo.

Being butthurt doesn't justify a bad rule

First I felt like you wanted a greater punishment for a traitor purposely rdming a traitor. That is kind of plausible to suggest. But a greater punishment for an inno/detective rdming a traitor would be veeeery situational. When innos rdm traitors out of blue, they dont know they are killing a traitor. Innos who do that at the beginning of a round are most likely gonna get banned for mass rdm or rdm and leave. Traitors know they are killing their fellow traitor, which is rdm and toxic, which could sometimes, with an admin discretion, be threated with 2 slays instead of a one. Now that I think about it, when traitors rdm traitors on purpose, they are also very likely candidates to be banned for mass rdm and rdm and leave.

I mean. It's not impossible to maybe have a feature to just drop a holstered T round in the inventory of an RDMed player through RDM Manager. But ima be honest, I voted no here. Seems like a lot of overengineering for something that has been and can be just dealt with. But maybe something could be implemented.

If this shit happens, it needs to be some kind of staff discretion, so it can be handled case by case.

This Will lead to different verdicts for the same cases based on the staff member, which Will lead to players complaining once again.
"uhh but I did it yesterday and the staff only gave me one slay and now you give me x many, Im gonna report and cry"

I would say this isn't fair. Accidents can happen and will happen, and its dumb to give extra punishments for a genuinely accidental rdm.

However, I do support the idea of discretion if the rdm was on purpose and the person knew what they were doing.

In most cases, intentionally RDMing someone is considered to be toxic, and mods can get discretion to slay/add an extra slay for toxicity from and admin(+).
