If you are standing perfectly still while holding the sword as a detective, is it your liability if someone walks into it, even if it is impossible to get killed by it if you are trying to die by it?
What? If someone walks into the sword while you are holding it then you are responsible for the kill. If someone purposefully does it just to get you slain, that can easily be seen as toxic gameplay, but you made a choice to hold the sword. I have no idea what you mean by "even if it is impossible to get killed by it if you are trying to die by it?"
I mean how different is it from when youre not holding it, and someone walks on it themselves? Why is it, that when the person is standing completely still, not waving it around, that its the person holding its responsibility?
yes because you are holding it, you took that concious choice to hold it and then stad still, sometimes people just dont know touching the diamond sword is insta death, as paci said if someone walks into it with the sole intention of getting you slain then yeah it can be considered toxic.
Im not being sarcastic, is it the grounds conscious choice to hold it? Do we slay the ground? The guy would theoretically not he moving at all. Basically afk. Why would the guy get slain because of someone else walking into it, when they made the conscious decision to do so? Its basically as if no one was holding it all. Imagine the sword floating a few feet in the air, not a finger on it, and someone walks into it. What do you do then? Slay the air? No that’s ridiculous. Now put a person holding onto the floating sword. Slay the person? That doesnt make sense.
The reason we do this is because if you pickup the sword you re-position it, meaning that it is in a new position than it was in before. This is hazardous if someone wasn't paying attention and bumbled into it. This is why we slay no matter what.
Im sorry what? Paci i love you but you slay because of a repositioning? You say it could be hazardous if people arent paying attention. Players miss unids, they might not have been paying attention, they still die, no slay. Players are caught gba. They might not have been paying attention, they still die, no slay. What makes this situation different? Why is the player who moved it responsible for the actions of other players? The players that should have been paying attention? If the player picks up the sword, moves it 2 feet, drops it, and a player dies... do you still slay the first player because he moved it but isnt holding onto it anymore?
Imagine for a second that I move the sword and hold it in a spot right around a corner. If I don't move, what you are saying is, I can never have RDMed when an innocent runs around the corner and gets killed by it.
If you move a sword by picking it up or other means you are responsible for it being in the current position, by your actions, This includes picking the sword up and placing it in the corridor at the bottom of the stairs, you are still responsible even if not holding it at this point, I have punished many people just for purposely putting the sword in a place that people walk and causing people to die.
You didnt answer my previous question so ill use your example. What if i move the sword around that corner and drop it and the guy dies? Am i still responsible even though im not holding it? And to answer your wuestion yeah you didnt rdm. The guy should have been paying attention.
Yeah, but you are the ultimate cause of that person's death. Had you not moved the sword, they would not have stumbled blindly in it. I may agree with you, but this is not a suggestion thread. This is a QNA. I'm telling you how the rules are upheld now, and why that is.
