    Which Server:
    East 1
    Which Map:
    ttt_innocentmotel
    Which Round:
    Last Round
    Time of Occurence:
    Around 11 PST/2 EST
    Reason For Report:
    Mishandling of a Report
    Evidence And/Or Witnesses:
On the last round of Innocent Motel, Mr. Diddles (a detective) jumped across a pit and shot two people for seemingly no reason. One right in front of me (which I believe was an inno), and the other person being me (I was also an inno). It was a pretty clear cut case of rdm. I report Mr. Diddles saying "Diddles why this isn't like you" and he responded back "You know me I'll take any chance I can to kill." I was expecting a slay for a very obvious RDM.

However, the map changes and Jabba does not slay Diddles for what was probably the most obvious RDM in my life, instead finding no fault. According to Woet (and thank you by the way Woet), Deathscenes are lost after a map change. Which means my report which should have been investigated was just lost forever with no investigation, and then closed because nothing could be done. EVEN THEN HOWEVER, Diddles response indicated that he killed simply because he wanted to.

I just fail to see how this report was handled properly in any capacity, even if I acknowledge the loss of death scenes after map change.

Yes so, as Woet mentioned, we can no longer view death scenes when the map changes.

    Here is the report,

His response was unclear, and since I was killed by him for blocking him on the motel pit, and knew he killed someone else for that same reason, I decided to ask him to be more clear for his reasoning. He responded that you also blocked him when he tried jumping over the pit and almost killed him. Which would give him the right to kill you.

Because I could not ascertain the validity of his response without the deathscene, I ruled it word versus word, and therefore invalid.

I don't believe I have anything else to add to this.

Tagging my Lead again to finish this as he sees fit, @Pacifist .

I can understand why a WvW situation would be automatically invalid, but the fact that I don't even get a say in the situation (You reached out to Diddles for more clarification but did not reach out for more clarification from me) is incredibly frustrating and honestly unbelievable. Also, I died at the very beginning of the round. There was plenty of time to finish the report before the map changed. I'm sure there were other reports that needed to be handled, but it seems very wrong to not handle the reports before a map changes, especially considering the map changing removes all death scenes.

Well you see, I only reached out to Diddles because his response was unclear. I didn't reach out to you because your stance was clear. He did kill you. There wasn't really any additional context to gain from messaging you. As for why it wasn't handled sooner, I'm not certain exactly what I was doing at the time, though I believe it took until the end of the round for Diddles to respond to the reports, as he lived until the end of the round if I recall correctly. I also don't think the round was especially lengthy.

Did you ask about the report in game Noccam?

As soon as the report was handled, Jabba left the server, so I had to turn to Woet who had just joined the server for any explanation at all.

That is true, it was 1am for me at that point and I was finding a stopping point. I stayed on through the map change to finish up the two reports on Diddles and left upon doing so.

Alright. Seems to me that the biggest problem here is a communications error. Jabba wasn't required to investigate the report further, but he could have by asking you for a video of the incident. Considering he was getting off the server I don't think there is any reason to blame Jabba for this. It likely didn't even occur to him to ask.

This probably could have been settled by a PM. I always encourage people to approach a mod or admin about a slay if they have questions about how it was resolved. I'll mark this as completed, as Jabba could have done more to investigate the report, but it isn't always our responsibility to go looking for further evidence to prove that the person did in fact RDM. We expect that if the player wants something investigated further that they make that known.

Thanks for reporting, I don't see any reason to punish Jabba for this.

EDIT: Let me make it clear, because I guess it wasn't, staff are still under no obligation to investigate reports further if the victim doesn't say anything. I'm just saying that in this case Jabba probably should have at least attempted to reach out to Noccam. Thanks.
