Rejected remove or lessen fall damage

    fall damage was removed from bomb rush and now its great fun to play. especially on dolls. fall damage was always just annoying, and way over sensitive.

    Fall Damage is what makes dolls and so many other maps so fun to play,
    You've got to watch out for the edge and discombs so you don't fall to your death.

    Removing fall damage all together would render the Newton Launcher completely useless. The gun, in my opinion, is fun to use, and I would hate to see it lose all usefulness.

    I would also have to agree with the previous post.

    fall damage during fun rounds should be removed altogether tbh

    what if there was an upgrade that reduced damage up to like 20% but like a crowbar shove, newton shot, etc would override the upgrade

    fall damage should be removed on all fun rounds imo.

    But normal rounds, nah :p

    Gotta remember that a lot of maps don't have places high enough to die from fall damage.

    The only reason I can see that FD was removed from Bomb Run rounds was that it allowed for more straight line paths to the other players and would therefore keep the round going, leading to it being a more Fun round.

    In all other instances, I can see virtually no benefit from removing/reducing FD.

    So its a -1 from me.

    I disagree, removing fall damage wouldnt be as fun as the removed fall damage on Bomb Rush.

    If anything, fall damage exists to benefit traitors as it is a way for them to kill someone, using a traitor trap, discombs, newton launcher or to just push someone off ledge. Apart from examples I mentioned even some maps would lose their purpose, I understand you hate to fall off a ladder in dolls, but a map like skycraft_final would also suck... You fall off the island and then you are stuck in the void unless the developer adds map damage when you fall off a map.

    Yeah, there are fun stuff you can do with ladders to minimize travelling distance while taking no fall damage. Regardless, fall damage is an important game mechanic and as others mentioned, a prime feature of many maps, guns and even playstyles. Gonna have to -1 this.

  14. I agree with BorkWoof, there should be an upgrade which reduces damage but does not apply to pushing people off with crowbars, and other things.

    -right so i forgot about this because i wasnt getting notifications so sorry if im bringing back an old thread or somethin
    -i know how to use ladders, i dont need to learn how to move
    -lessening fall damage wouldnt destroy maps like dolls, it would just give better movement
    -death barriers can be added to places where map devs wanted people to die where as before the fd nerf they might have rellied on fd.
    -fall damage is annoying asf if you mess up a bhop or ladder strafe
    -if fd is nerfed, discombobs and or newton launchers etc should be buffed.
    -the changes made dont have to be permanent
    -someone said something like "if fall damage was removed the map skycraft would be unplayable because you would be stuck at the bottom of the void", this may be true in some cases but you can easily just add a death barrier to the map, or implement the jump nerf correctly to fit the maps currently in play

    Removing fall damage from the game will not happen. It's a core part of TTT and would create several new issues.

    Lessening it is a possibility, though I would have to know how fall damage works (distance fallen:health lost) before I begin arguing for a random percentage.

    i suggest halfing the damage the fall does, this will nerf fd but it wont extend the fd range. i would rather the fd range to be increased but idk how it works either/neither
