Magneto stick is toxic.

I mean, it was created to be able to move props out of your way, doing so with right-click is faster.

HOWEVER. People abuse this mechanic severely here. Prop killing is a massive issue on any map with props, particularly de_dust, which is literally report-city for staff.

I think we should remove the right-click mechanic entirely, leaving only the ability to use the left click Push mechanic, which is solely non-toxic in nature; you can use it to become unstuck from people, you can push props out of your way with it, but you cannot kill people with it, turning the Magneto stick into a tool and making everyones life easier.

also people keep crashing the server intentionally by stuffing props into doors that close or infront of the cars in 67th way.

Also, if you're the person who says "...doing this would make staffing more difficult", then this thread is for you! Removing the ability to pick up props with the magneto stick would be the biggest slack the staff have seen in forever, and de_dust will become a playable map again.

what about maps where you need to carry items to activate certain things? examples for these are: the battery on bank, tnt on island, sword on jondome and some others.

 

maybe we should lock certain props then. it's not hard to do, just have to edit the map and replace the one the server has with the fixed version

 

You say it isn't hard, but uh....
Kinda is. You'd have to first change the magneto stick to push/pull only. That itself isn't hard at all.
But, allowing on certain maps on certain OBJECTS sounds pretty hard to me, considering you'd have to edit a shit ton of objects in a shit ton of maps, and then you'd have to do a shit ton of testing and it wouldn't really be worth it.

 

go to map in sandbox mode, make props persistant, save and replace current map file with edited one. rlly not that hard at all. like, you guys literally froze the table in 67th way so people couldnt block the portal with it anymore; how is this any different if people are still abusing props.

Sorry if this sounds rude but if it is so easy and you are unhappy with the current situation then why don't you yourself just edit the maps and then put the collection of edited maps up as a suggestion?

The problem is, 1) this would upset a lot of players in the community. 2) I feel like this issue isn’t as big as you’re making it out to be, yes RDM by Props happens but RDM by guns happens far more often. Now I’m not sure about the whole crashing the server thing but it wouldn’t be a popular decision and something so drastic for such a small problem seems a bit unwarranted.

Why don't we remove right click for crowbars while we're at it? That causes RDM because people push afk players into pools or kill zones, so that's just as bad, right?

Lets remove jumping too because people can jump off buildings or jump on top of people and kill them.

Better yet lets remove moving and weapons, then no RDM will happen

We have no intention of making the magneto stick obsolete or removing it. Magneto stick is apart of TTT and to remove it would cause a mass riot of angry players. It is literally only you who dislikes it.
