If you were not involved in a staff action, you must report them privately

If you weren't directly involved in a ban / report / appeal and you want to report a staff member, you should have to do it via private. Randomly filing reports is just getting yawn at this point. Blame xpro v2

If this wasn't an issue, I'd be okay with that.

Issues like this were reported privately in the past and never handled. Unfortunately administration has changed how it has handled these type of problems and issues do not get handled recently unless it is public.

Granted, Teroxa is better at being responsive than Mango was (who unfortunately was really bad), but it's still an issue as several have expressed in shoutbox.

It's interesting, it's actually made me double guess the whole not being able to reply to a report if you're not involved rule as well. There has been a lot of people who have had interesting perspectives that would be incredibly helpful in a couple of these reports-- but they're not allowed to express it. I can understand how it'd go bad if this rule was reverted however.

Third party reporters are often knowledgeable of the rules in a way that they can recognize when a staff member is doing something that isn't on the up and up. Most of the time. The rest of the time it is just some jackass who thinks he is smarter than the average bear. Now, I'm not going to point to anyone specific, so assume I'm speaking in general, but I think it is worth pointing to when you should and when you shouldn't file a report.

    Do:
-File a public report if you have been abused, or have witnessed abuse, by a staff member.
-File a report if a staff member has not handled something correctly while you have were there.
-File a report if it would cause harm if you didn't.

    Don't:
    -If you just want attention.
-If you want to get someone in trouble for small things.
-If you can't justify or back your reasoning up.

At the end of the day, I support any person who wants to file a report publicly or privately. It really makes no difference, a report is the best way to cut down on problems in the staff team. That being said, the best rule of thumb is just don't be a dick.

The only stupid (albeit unwritten) rule I see being implemented regarding this is you'll risk getting warned (sometimes) if you're discussing a report in the shoutbox especially if it's a sensitive one.

    Regarding the suggestion, -1
