Honestly Opal I have two huge complaints with the current MITM.

The first i s that once you are actually the MITM, you don't really get to enjoy it like you would by being a reaper, hidden, etc. You are gangbanged by like 20 people, even in a 1 on 1 your aim just goes everywhere and the reload of the crossbow is even shittier and it has no accuracy at range (saw @Falcor hardscoping someone and still missing because of drop / other factors) this should go back to the rifle IMO.

And the second fact is, the fun rounds are generally for the entire server to have fun, there seems to be more and more of a trend of moving towards fun rounds without constant respawn. Meaning during all the newer style fun rounds if you die early on, you get to sit out and do nothing until the rounds are over. For something like hidden or reapers this wasn't much of an issue since they have full wallhacks, but on the MITM you could be out of the game for a long time.

tl;dr being the man sucks, theres very little skill to it, and the rounds are long and if you die early you're stuck sitting around doing nothing for a while.

I have never seen anyone in-game actually enjoying it, Opal. Everyone groans every time it comes on. The changes you made only made it worse, because now it goes on forever and nobody is a true winner. The last survivor doesn't feel accomplished, because he didn't accomplish much. Having it just go from person to person to person makes it last forever, and erases any clear goals or objectives. If it's survival, what's to stop people from not teaming up to kill the red guy and just camping? That's not fun at all. At least before, there was a clear objective: team vs. team.

I'm positive if I started advertising this petition on the servers, the Yes would skyrocket.

Hop on the servers until the game mode comes on, and see the community reaction mirror my own.

I think you could and should improve it. But until you do, get rid of it. It's the most common fun round and it takes away from the other ACTUAL fun rounds of the event. It's not fair to the community to have to deal with a broken game mode because it has the POTENTIAL for improvement in the future. Recall it, fix it, and then roll out a new version and see if that works. If it doesn't, recall it, fix it, and repeat.

I get that it's your baby and you don't want to put it down, but couldn't you take it back and raise it a little more before putting it out into the world? It's not ready, yet.

This is why people got angry with No Man's Sky and that new pirate game. Devs released unfinished products. I get you want people to see your work as soon as possible, but that's just not realistic, my guy. You need to fine it down and shape it into something, first. Otherwise, it's just a piece of metal. It could be a sword, it could be a shield, it could be a helmet; it could be anything, really. With the drastic change in gameplay between updates, however, it seems like you don't really know what you want it to be, yet. That should be your number 1 priority before releasing.

TLDR Please, recall it. Please. You can send it back out again when you think it's found its footing, by all means. But right now, it's just a burden on a community that wants to have fun playing TTT but are instead stuck waiting like it's TanaCon.

    @Aarow
Group mentality is a scary thing.
    Firstly, you're offering valid criticism.
But regarding 'everyone groans': it is not everyone, and I am almost certain that some of the groaning is due to conformity rather than a genuine dislike of the mode.
People like to fit in with a group. So even if they don't really mind the mode, they'll join the groaning, vocal group. Because we're social creatures.
Again, I am absolutely certain that it's not everyone. It is evident in the poll that not everyone hates it. And you don't pay any attention to the quiet players, you only hear the groans.

You'd have more fun with the mode if you spent less energy thinking about how you dislike it, and more time making it fun. Stir up some friendly competition, trash talk the man/the lesser mortals, talk about your favourite new, soon-to-be-dead meme, whatever.

Tl;dr: have fun and be positive. Offer constructive criticism. Go to bed early. Get a degree. Find a partner. Get marri..

I can't help but agree with aarow fully. It was terrible before because of how map-centric it was; hallways means MitM win 90% of the time and wide open spaces make is a little more fair. The gameplay of either getting 1 tapped in a hallway or having your screen spaz out as 10 people UMPed you is not fun.

This new change means that the MitM is toothless, he has agonizing reloads and a projectile weapon. Ganging up on him is really simple. This makes the game play even worse. The reward for killing a Man is that you get to be the man and get to be gangbanged to death with umps. Its not a test of skill and its not particularly fun. The ability to outlast other plays is simply killing a Man with only a handful of innos alive, if you kill him with 20 alive you are guaranteed to lose.

The duration is also a huge issue. With only 1 Man killing people rounds take forever and strongly incentivize hiding and cheesing as the Man. Without a team behind you all you can do is find a tight space and pray that the innos aren't smart enough to swarm. In terms of enjoyment and time consumption the new change is a massive step back. With this latest attempt to revamp the game mode being a failure I think its time to take it back to the drawing board, its clear it doesn't need tinkering but rather a redesign. I'm not sure that a mass of innos using 1 damage UMPs can ever produce a round that is fun, the gameplay of that type of weapon means that you either don't die because you picked off stragglers or get absolutely smashed by a swarm.

Replying to constructive criticism with a response that basically says "shut up and enjoy it you ingrate" is quite amusing. You can try to couch it in the most civil language possible, but Aarow has laid out reasons why this round is not fun and offered a good argument for its removal.

Apart from the initial note that people groaning makes other people groan, the first thing I said is
    That was the overarching message.
The rest was explaining that when you decide the round sucks and isn't fun, and then spend the round moaning , then you can scarcely have fun. And groaning just spreads that attitude.
I disagree that it is constructive criticism. Criticism, yes But mostly "I don't like it because xyz" no element of "try abc instead" or "it would be better if you did def". I may have missed it since I check this thread only during my breaks, so correct me if I missed any. The suggestion here is literally remove. That's not exactly constructive. I understand if the idea is remove - rework - replay. Sure, it'd make sense if you consider the mode so bad as to be unplayable. But nothing in op gave me the impression that that would be the goal.

To the people in favour of removing the mode, what would have to change for you to enjoy the mode instead?

I thought the message was clear, I explicitly stated that the latest fix was a failure in terms of gameplay and in terms of playability (bugs)and that my preference was that it should be removed.
I then suggested it be removed because fixes have failed and the whole idea of using UMPs in a swarm is difficult to make enjoyable. This is my preferred fix. I understand the effort put into this game mode but its problems need to be addressed while it is not a part of the core game.

Fixing it is difficult to impossible because of the base design. Removing it and then polling ideas to bring it back would be better than forcing more "fixes" that make the mode worse and introduce crashes and bugs to the fun round.

I've not played the reworked one enough yet to judge it properly, but the player that gets the last hit on the man shouldn't get to be the man. It should be the guy that dealt the most damage, granted he's still alive.

Last hitter getting man makes you want to not shoot until the man is low health which is bad.

NOTHING. You know why nobody is giving any positive feedback, or reasons to fix it? Because there are none. It's a shitty, terrible, un-entertaining gamemode. The majority of people dislike it, that's why we're here in the first place now, PLEASE, take some criticism for once and accept that nobody enjoys playing this. Remove it.

Hmmm... We went from "some people do like it" to "nobody enjoys it", despite evidence to the contrary in this very thread.
    HMMMMMMM....

Anywho, I still disagree with the premise that it is unsalvagable. And that won't change -- at least, you won't change my mind by throwing a colourful assortment of negative adjectives at it.
Again; I believe the game mode, as is, is alright. Sure, I don't think it's great, but I don't mind it and generally have a nice time playing it.
However I agree that changes could and indeed should be made. Fun rounds should be fun for the vast majority, and the poll here is evidence to the fact that it's not currently enjoyed by the majority.
It not being fun right now shouldn't mean "delete this" - it should instead make you pose the question "how can we make it fun?"

If at the end of the road we've tried everything we could think of, and it's still not good. Then sure, as a last resort, remove it for good.
But it can be made fun. It can be made good.
I've not rejected any criticisms raised here, I've just appealed to a more moderate and constructive approach, rather than "remove it" (as was the OP and title).
I think the remove > rework > replay method, as advocated by Aarow in another post here, is a decent approach. But unless we add some suggestions for changes, that's still not a very constructive approach.

If I'm not mistaken, we do have the test server still, yes? Suggested changes could be tried out on there to see how they turn out in practice.

We don't need to remove it. I enjoy it. If other people are disliking it then think of ways to improve it.
