I wanted clarification from the admin team about immunity from GBA that's not listed on the written extended rules. From my conversation with @Graze or @Han Solo (maybe both or some other admin I can't remember) when I was a mod, there are no unwritten rules that make a player immune to GBA. When there was a situation where a Traitor buddy started shooting a large group of innocents, and the traitor buddy right next to him realized that he couldn't win the fight started shooting at the air around his t buddy, and was killed for it because he was GBA due to failing to act adequately to his t buddy shooting the players. Either (maybe) of the admins told me that this would indeed fall under GBA, but could be toxic gameplay based on the situation (whether it was obvious the guy made an effort or whatever complicated shit) and the killer's intent. However, it wasn't RDM. I agree shooting your t buddy or kosing Nobody while aiming is some 300 IQ traitor tactic, but it shouldn't erase your guilt.
    I would like to know:
    • Any updates to the staff protocols that now include ways for players to become immune to GBA (i.e the acts that make it so)
    • An updated verdict on the situation I summarized above.

My understanding would be that if the player was shooting towards the traitor in any way that does not make them GBA. If this is wrong I'd like to know. AFAIK there are no changes right now on GBA, only been things with unids being changed (maybe administration is testing the waters)

While I'm not admin, I'll post my response here.
I highlighted and bolded the part that shows what makes up GBA.
Now, nothing has changed since we updated the extended rules on August 6th.
    1. The players must be around the traitors where they have "sight" of the person performing traitorous acts.
    2. The players must refused to attack or kos the person performing the traitorous act. Now, shoot near the traitor is considered "attacking".
    3. They must have reasonable time. Now, it's more of a result of reports where people would have jerk knee reaction to actions going on and passing it on as GBA. If the person walks away from it or chose to not do anything to the person performing the traitorous acts by just standing there and watching them do such, they are considered GBA.
    4. This is straightforward. No hidden tricks or ways to confuse you. The victim of a traitorous act cannot be considered a witness to the act. Therefore they can't be considered GBA.
Now, some common examples of the players not being GBA'd are
    • Being in another room while the person performing traitorous acts is in room next to that person. The person did not see the traitorous act being committed so they can not be GBA'd.
    • Not witnessing the traitorous act yourself. You must witness the traitorous act before you can kill people for GBA. However, there can be some common sense cases where you can apply GBA to kill people.
    • Waiting around for even few seconds before investigating the scene. If you wait, you will give the person who might actually performed the traitorous act time to escape, and the nearest person who didn't see the traitorous act may arrive at the room before you did.
And the examples from the extended rules:

Overall, nothing has changed to overall scenario of people being immune to GBA since we last updated the extended rules where we added few more provisions to better suit our overall idea of GBA. The only major thing that was added since last time that involves giving immunity to people being GBA'd was giving people reasonable time to react, and it was designed for players to stop passing situations as GBA for failing to react to the situation instantaneously as the person is performing traitorous act.

The only other change to GBA since the extended rules were given overhaul was this:

If I'm getting everything correctly, currently, it is still the staff member's discretion to determine whether someone is "attacking" the traitor performing said act and that's only criteria pertaining to this situation. Thanks. But just to be sure, I request to please clarify how a staff member should determine whether someone is "attacking" someone else or not by:
    1. Giving a final verdict on the specific situation I mentioned in OP
    2. Giving an example opposite of the outcome of the verdict above (i.e if the player is NOT gba there, what is an example where a player IS gba for not "attacking" the traitor that isn't listed in the examples of the extended rules and is similar to one outlined in OP.)

    1.
    I addressed this
    by stating this:
If you're pretending to shoot at your traitor by shooting around/near the traitor, you are no longer considered GBA as per the rules stated because you're "attacking" your traitor buddy.

    2.
Now, if the person was clearly not shooting at his t buddy, he's still GBA'd.
For example, the traitor was shooting down the hallway, and the other traitor was just fooling around and shooting at the wall next to him/her. The person failed to react to his traitor buddy who was shooting at a large group of innocents.
    He's still GBA'd.

I touched on this a little last night, but I think a better way to define "attacking" in this instance is to compare it to traitor baiting. Traitor baiting isn't defined by being shot within three player models of a person. There's a loose definition on what it actually is, and staff are expected to essentially know it when they see it. In a similar vein, there's not a solid definition on how close you need to shoot near your traitor buddy to be exempt from GBA, but staff members are just expected to be able to recognize it when it comes up.

On the topic of the last part of this.

What if you’re just a bad shot? Not being able to hit the target, but instead the wall beside and above him is a common thing.
