Minecraft Shutdown

    It is with deep regret that I have to announce that we are planning on shutting down the Minecraft Server on June 11th, 2017. Basically, the two main individuals that were maintaining this project became busy and had to abandon the project. I tried to find others who could help maintain and improve the conditions of the server, and the current MC team did an amazing job in trying to do that however it just wasn't enough. At this point I don't think there is much that can be done other than shutting down the server.

    I want to go ahead and thank the original maintainers @Disruptionz and @Deathbyrussian. I also want to give a special thanks to the rest of the team that stuck with it and tried their best @irritatingness, @Robokiller87, @Ross, @HelixSpiral, @AnarkisT and @Zikeji. And finally, I want to thank the community for supporting the server.

    What does this mean in terms of the permanent ranks you purchased? You will keep them forever on the forums as they are permanent. They will not be available for purchase anymore. If we ever open a MC server again, and that is a big IF, then these ranks will become active on that server again.

    Once the server is officially shut down, I will be hosting it without donations on a private machine. I will not be working on it as much, but it'll be available to enjoy for anyone who is playing survival occasionally.

    Edit: This post will be updated with the IP after the official shutdown, in addition to a post in the gaming sub-forum.

    Edit 2: IP is mc.irritatingness.me (the domain was free ok I'm not a narcissist, or at least not a MAJOR one). I'll make a gaming sub-forum post once the server is updated to 1.12, but for now it's running on the 1.11.2 that it was beforehand.

    It was a pleasure to staff when I could during the active and down times. Helping out the community was all I wanted to do and unfortunately the time just wasn't right for it to succeed as well as we'd like.

    Thanks for creating hundreds of hours of great fun, 5 months is still a good time for a server as you can expect they will all not last forever.

    It saddens me to see the end of what began as a feeling of such promise and excitement. I believe that even though this experiment was not successful, there's no doubt that it has been an experience that many of us enjoyed and one from which the community can learn from, and an experience we can bring with us moving forward to bigger and better things.

    One more thing, I wanted to thank @irritatingness, the guy who kept the stitching in place, and allowed the server to go on as long as it has. I appreciate the time, effort and dedication you have given despite the many obligations and responsibilities in your personal life.

    Although I joined SGM as a TTT player, Minecraft is what truly introduced me to a lot of people here that I truly call my friends. It is truly saddening to see the server go, although the decision is absolutely understandable.

    what confuses me is what will happen to my house. is it going to be on the forums forever or? Will I get it back if the server gets jumpstarted again?
