QOL, Economy Changes, Future Plans (New Content!)

    Hello everyone,

    We've gone over extensive testing on several new plugins we believe will add a lot of QOL changes to the server. We'll be adding in ChestShops, Death Signs, and finalizing the Hall of Heroes! ChestShops is one of our key fixes to our issues with the economy and we believe it will provide everyone with a fix that has been long awaited for. Death signs is particularly interesting as we now have a way to prevent players from losing their items from despawning. Your items upon death will go into an accessible/breakable grave with a 15 minute timer until the grave despawns. This will by-pass the normal countdown we had for items on the ground and allow you ample time to save your items! As for the Hall of Heroes this has gone on for far too long unfinished and we plan to display the top McMMO leaders in the hall for people to work towards their way to fame to show off your hard work and dedication.


    More economy changes!

    So we're aware of how unbalanced the economy has become and we believe we've reached a conclusion. One of our biggest changes is we'll be phasing out the global market in hopes of creating a more stable market place and these changes will be in tandem with the following. Firstly, we will be addressing the villager emerald abuse within the economy. We've noticed that emeralds could be effectively farmed from villagers using various methods and we'll be looking into a solution to mitigate this issue by nerfing the emerald dispersion amount. Furthermore, we will be completely removing villager spawners to further mitigate this problem and there will be equal compensation given to the owners of spawners. We believe this is a key piece to help stabilizing the economy. We will be removing many items that can be bought and sold within the economy due to redundancy or abuse of infinite resources (enchantments, valuable ores, cosmetics, etc.). The end fortress farming will be finally put under control by extending an incredibly large border (300k in length) as to make The End not an unlimited landscape which would make the amount of possible end fortresses limited. Lastly, we'll finally be getting to the bottom of a proper income increase rate for jobs and make sure the income fits in with our new economy system.

    For our last piece of information in this update we want to gauge what the community wishes to be added to the server with our current abilities. It's unfortunate we cannot use mods, however we've taken on the challenge to try to add in new content with plugins that we believe will add much more gameplay for everyone.

    We believe Towny can replaced our current GriefProtection system while adding the spice of a Faction-esque environment to our survival server. We want to see what you think about adding in this new component of survival which should be an addition and not a subtraction content-wise.

    We've been thoroughly impressed by the control of PvP with our current system however with that said we believe it's been too effective (or maybe, it's been just right!) that's for you to tell us what you think. We believe PvP should happen more often and by that we mean lessen the time we have during the day to a lesser amount. We want to see if you're for PvP to be more common, or not as we've noticed that PvP barely happens within an hour and these changes can make more action occur within an hour of gameplay.

    So our current set of minigames unfortunately garnered only so much interest and with that said we're looking to expand what we currently have by offering these choices for the server. We're looking for you to tell us your top 3 requests and depending if the minigames function properly we'll be able to add them into the server.


    These changes will not be immediate, but we hope they'll be done in the next couple of days or within the week depending on difficulty. As for the new content this will be in an entirely separate update later down the road, but expect them nonetheless!     Glad to see proactive changes for the server!

    For minigames, as there wasn't an option on the survey, I'd personally like more parkour areas and such with some sort of checkpoint/leaderboard system (as opposed to the weird parkour we got now). As an added plus it's the type of gamemode that can be played on a low pop server. You don't need to try to convince players to join the gamemode. Previous servers I've been have even done things such as community contests to build such arenas.

    There are probably plugins that exist that would make setting it up easy as well. A quick google search found three (2nd hasn't been updated to 1.11 yet however)

    Also I like seeing that the creative area is being opened up to all. It would be nice though if there were a single spawn point (rather than the random spawn the with rtp still being an option) as I was quickly turned off by it in the past due not wanting to waste a home on it or have to manually write down coords for it.

    This is something I'd like to address by using something like PlotMe (or now PlotSquared). This would remove the need to claim the land with claim blocks, and allow easier collaboration between builds.

    Of course this would have to be a new world though, and we'd need to offer migration of builds by developers.

    We can look into custom minigames in the future too, I'd personally began work on a Hidden in Minecraft game-mode a while back but will need to start from scratch on it.

  9. This is such a breath of fresh air, the staff and dev team are amazing for working so hard and dealing with us crabby players for so long! :wacky: I would've quit in a day if I was in that position, props to them for not giving up(y)

    Can someone please explain how farming endermen destroyed the economy? Also, if its already destroyed because of it how does removing homes from the end help in any way?

    Removing homes from the end will effectively render it useless unless we have a random TP from the portal akin to TPing into survival.

    That being said, removing homes from the end will restrict me and others from accessing our respective bases. I cannot support this.

    We're going for a plan B: Extending an incredibly large border whose length will be determined later as to make the end fortress farming a limited resource. As it stands now, The End is unlimited making end fortresses unlimited. This border will prevent players from farming end fortresses so it's first come first serve. Homes will not be removed.
