I don't assume any players are breaking the rules when playing.

If the detective is shooting at a player, then I assume that he has evidence that player is a traitor.

If it was player vs player it would be assumption because the player shooting could be Innocent, or Traitor.

However, detective, you're 100% certain that you have an innocent player-shooting another player. So the other player must be a traitor. It falls under common sense in my opinion.

The only other outcome is that the detective is breaking the rules, or the player he is shooting is breaking the rules by doing a traitorous act to cause the player to KOS them. Both of which is outside of the "fourth wall" of the game.

I'm sorry but who slayed you? If you could PM me and i'll get this sorted out. Assisting a Detective, regardless of what they're doing(unless they're shooting at you), is not a slay-able offense.

@POP STAR that would be me, good sir.

To be completely honest, I would agree to this suggestion, as real-world logic states that you should be helping the ones in authority like the police or the inspector.

Since I am here, might as well discuss what happened. For the transparency on why the player was slain is because, there was no concrete KOS on the player, vocally or in chat. As far as I know, shooting at ANYONE that has not done anything traitorous, or has a KOS, or ANY grounds regardless that the player should be killed, it would be RDM. In this case, the player that was shot to death by the detective and the accompanying inno:
    • Did NOT have a KOS in ANY form.
    • Did NOT fire back at the Detective or the Innocent during the entire skirmish.
There was a Q&A on this: http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/when-detectives-are-shooting-at-people.33984/ that further supports my claim for the slay.

To the player I have slain, I hope you didn't feel you were targeted, as I simply followed the protocol that I knew.

After clarifications with the higher ups, this is no longer within the gray area, and is associated with this post. Being shot at is not a Triatorous act. Helping a Detective kill a player that does not have a KOS on them or has done a Traitorous act(including shooting back) is RDM. Therefore, you were correct to issue the slay. I apologize for the bluntness and sincerely thank you for the learning experience. I believe this post has also helped clarify confusion for a handful of my peers as well.
