I've noticed that whether you do 1-99 damage or kill a player you can be slain if reported, even if the damage was a mistake. Why can't staff simply slap the offending player for the same amount of damage caused at the start of the next round? While damaging a player can negatively affect their gameplay, it's definitely not the same as killing them and putting them out of the game for the rest of the round. Is there a reason why this command isn't used? Edit: Hmm.. now that I'm really thinking about it, I suppose this could put more of a workload on staff, since people might playfully crowbar each other and know they won't be slain for it. Still, I'd like to get more input from everyone.
Let's have a look a look this scenario. You do 12 damage to someone, they kill you. Another innocent witnesses them kill you and starts a chain of innocents killing each other. Oh shit, 10 innocents died because of your 12 damage that doesn't effect gameplay". Rare situation but could happen. Sure you could make specific rules around it but might be too complicated or unfair. Another scenario, you kill someone but did a total of 12 damage, you get slain. Someone else did 20 damage randomly and contributed to the kill but gets slapped. Now why would it be fair that someone who did more damage than you get a slap on the wrist while you did less but gave someone the killing blow. Sure you killed the guy but the other guy had a bigger impact. You were just unfortunate to misclick at the wrong time while the other guy was intentionally trying to kill him.
The current rules we have in place have gotten us past our third year anniversary. No need to weaken them. If we just slap players how can they take that seriously? Just be more careful and this really shouldn't be an issue.
The slap idea is stupid af, but there is a ulx command for "impairnr". the name is self explanatory. Either way, @Weeeeeeeee pretty much said it perfectly.
Im more curious besides Zombina and probably Tree who also agreed lol EDIT: Oh it was the killing joke who made a farewell yesterday but could've rated this before making the farewell aaaaa anyway hell no -1
Ah, yes, had I known that command existed I would've suggested that instead. Oh well, the arguments were valid.
