Accepted Making Marking people easier

Easy suggestion, here it goes:
We all know how to mark people as Friend, Missing, Kill, Avoid, etc. right? It's in the Tab menu

What I suggest we do is that we make it easier to do so by making a chatbox command for it, like so:

Basically:
!mark person K/S/F/M/A

K - Kill
S - Suspect
F - Friend
M - Missing
A - Avoid

It'll make things a lot easier since we won't have to find their name in the Tab menu, which can take some time if they have a similar name as someone else. I don't see why this shouldn't be added.

Omg pls yes. I hate standing around tapping my WASD keys while trying to find a player in the tab menu. I use this pretty much every time I wanna follow a KOS. It leaves you so exposed especially when there are 30+ people on the server.

 

If it will be possible to bind it somehow this would be amazing.

But right now I'll be neutral on this since you force yourself to stand still, while when you are tabbed you can still move around.

While typing, you cant move nor can you use your mic or basically anything other than the chat box, leaving you more exposed and more likely to die. Having the current tab menu allows you to move around as well as use your mic. Id rather not die repeatedly bc i have to type !mark everytime i wanna mark someone.

It's a suggestion that adds to the tab menu status function, not a complete revision.

 

Yes. For the people that like moving around when applying a class to a person, it seems only fair that it should stay. For me, personally, I find typing someone's name out (pressing Tab while having typed out half a lad's name out helps a lot) to be a lot faster than opening the Tab menu, finding their name, clicking it, then applying the class.

 

I can easily type a name faster than using the leaderboard using the tab autofil in chat that an I can find a name in 36 player list. You dont HAVE to type you can still do the awkward current way.

 

Well, guess what dude? You arent everyone else who cant type fast! No derailing this, but just bc you can do something doesnt mean the other 99.99% of the community can.

 

Yeah the whole point is that it adds another option... OPTION! As in, you can do it either way so marking people becomes more accessible. Not everyone is like carned and not everyone is like you so why not give options that make it easier for both.

 

Dumb argument to use: I can't type fast enough so I'll probably die.

Dumb argument to use: We already have something that works for everyone.

Good argument to use: More options for people who may not like the current system.

Dumb thing to think: It'll replace tab menu marking entirely.

I think being able to middle click while having your crosshair aimed at someone would be cool. Middle clicking would allow you to cycle through the statuses.

+1 as long as the tab version stays. A way to make it a macro/bind would be easier for some cases (you see someone acting sketchy, being able to hit a key to mark them as susp would be great).
